If you'd like to bring a car to Vancouver, or to rent one, on-campus parking pretty close to our venue is available for a fee. If you're willing to walk 20–30 minutes we can point you to some places you can park for free.
There is a carpool blog for those wishing to co-ordinate rides. This can also be used to arrange to share a rental car during the conference.
Here is a searchable campus map.
Campus To Town
Transit links from UBC to the rest of Vancouver are frequent. The best option for most routes is to go to the bus loop. Google maps gives pretty accurate information on which service will take you where. You can also search bus routes on the TransLink website.
The fare is $2.95, which buys you a ticket you can then use on any bus or train for the next 90 minutes. TransLink card readers now accept contactless Visa and Mastercard credit cards (or you can still use a Compass card).
Taxi companies include Black Top And Checker Cabs, 604 731 1111. Taxis will take credit cards or cash, though most need to be booked. (Don't count on being able to flag down a taxi, especially from campus.) Vancouver does not have Uber or Lyft but B.C. just launched its own ride-sharing service called Kater. For members, car-sharing services car2go, Evo, and ZipCar all have vehicles and lots on campus.
